Biographical Information
Paul L. Anderson was born June 6, 1946, in Pasadena, CA, trained as an architect at Stanford and Princeton, and lived almost all of his adult life in Salt Lake City, UT. His work as an exhibit designer and curator at the LDS Church History Museum and BYU Museum of Art took him around the world. He occasionally painted before his nominal retirement at the end of 2014, but became much more active afterwards. His work is strongly influenced by those three threads: his architectural training, his life in the American West, and his travel. He died March 23, 2018. In his last three years, he completed over 100 oil paintings in addition to hundreds of sketches and studies.
